My name is Christina Hughes and I came to mask-making through theatre. I studied makeup and costume design at Western Washington University and I now work as a union stagehand. Mask-making is a way for me to let off creative steam and to experience the joy that comes from fashioning something both beautiful and useful.

I enjoy researching new designs and then seeing where they go once I actually mold and paint the leather. Leather is exceptional to work with but sometimes has a mind of its own.
